The Oracle Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution is comprised of a group of applications designed to aid users in areas such as sales, services, and marketing. The Oracle CRM system is geared towards providing a standard based architecture to allow the streamlining of data.
This makes business processing and data quality assurance easier to manage. There are more than 50 CRM based applications offered by Oracle. Each of these programs tackles a specific function in the CRM process. Some examples of these are Oracle Sales, Oracle Services, and Oracle Marketing. Oracle Sales uses a lot of tools to make the entire sales cycle run at a much faster rate. The sales tools are used to provide consistent and accurate information for that purpose. Some of the applications of these tools include identifying prospective sales, creating sales proposals, handling customer quotes, fulfilling order requests, and following up customer concerns. One of the advantages of Oracle Sales compared to other systems is that it provides a singular basis for information. This enables the sales cycle to be run more efficiently across different divisions. The information is consistent across the board, which allows the objectives of both parties to be aligned accurately. Another such advantage is the ease of use when used in conjunction with Oracle Database and Oracle Application server systems. The implementation is done much faster and system performance is at an optimal level. Oracle Service, on the other hand, is a tool used for customer service. It allows users access to information in a consistent and accurate manner. The Oracle Service platform manages all the customer service related information and the processes involved in handling them. Finally, Oracle Marketing provides marketing tools that are information-driven. Like Oracle Service, the marketing related information and processes are handled by Oracle Marketing. The advantages obtained from Oracle Sales are similar to the ones derived from Oracle Service and Oracle Marketing. The huge collection of applications available is conducive to the customization needed for the different types of business models being used. There are newly released programs based on trends that are being observed. For example, the newly released Oracle CRM On Demand allows users to customize objects through widgets and gadgets. The user interface has been integrated with the different web applications being used. Oracle aims to incorporate the rapidly growing social networking features as part of its enterprise solution. This bodes well for any future developments that may occur with regards to IT development. |
